Question 1

What size shooting vest should I buy?

Accepted Answer

Start with your chest measurement. Every product page has a Size guide button showing chest, waist and length in centimetres for each size, so measure around the fullest part of your chest and around your natural waist, then match those numbers to the chart. Our vests are adjustable at the waist and the unisex cut suits most shooters. If you are between two sizes, size up for a relaxed fit that layers over a shirt.

Question 2

Can I use this vest for Trap and Sporting Clays?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our shooting vests are built for the clay formats: trap, skeet and sporting clays. The Eireborn Premium Shooting Vest adds a quilted recoil shoulder panel for comfort through a long day, deep reinforced front shell pockets for quick reloads between stations, and rear zip pockets for your ear protection, glasses or scorecard.

Question 3

Is this vest suitable for hot weather?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Most of our vests are a cotton, polyester and breathable mesh blend, which keeps them lightweight and comfortable in spring and summer shooting conditions. The Premium Shooting Vest has breathable mesh back and side panels, so it stays cool through a summer round without losing its structure.

Question 4

Is there a left-handed version?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our range covers left-handed, right-handed and ambidextrous designs, and most of our vests are cut unisex to suit either side. The Eireborn Ambi Shooting Vest is made to suit right and left handed shooters. Where a vest suits one side in particular, the product page tells you which side it suits.

Question 5

What size shotgun fits this slip?

Accepted Answer

Our slips and cases are sized by barrel length or overall measurement. The Eireborn Waterproof Cordura Shooting Slip suits over-and-under guns up to a 32" barrel. The Waterproof Gun Slip takes any long gun under 52 inches. The 120 Soft Gun Case measures 120cm (the lighter 600D slip comes in 120cm and 130cm), the 50" Break It cases are 130cm x 30cm, and the gun sock is 54" x 4". The stated size is listed on every product page.

Question 6

Is the gun slip waterproof or water-resistant?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the model. The Eireborn Waterproof Cordura Shooting Slip is made from waterproof Cordura. The Waterproof Gun Slip is water-resistant and dustproof, ideal for wet weather and muddy ground. The Classic Gun Slip is a light tan slip built to keep dust, knocks and marks off your gun, but it is not sold as waterproof. Each product page states which one you are looking at.

Question 7

Does it have padding?

Accepted Answer

The padded models do. The Eireborn Waterproof Cordura Shooting Slip is padded with EVA foam, and the 50" Break It cases are fully padded, with the Delux bag also fleece lined inside. The lightweight slips and the gun sock are built for light protection rather than padding. Each product page lists what the specific model has.

Question 8

Is the shirt UPF rated?

Accepted Answer

Our clay shooting performance and casual shirts are rated up to UPF 50+ sun protection, and they are long sleeved, so they cover your arms and neck through a long day on the range. The Clubwear Landscape Print Polos are long-sleeve sun-smart shirts built for the same conditions, but they are not sold with a stated UPF rating.

Question 9

What material is it?

Accepted Answer

Our performance and casual shooting shirts are 100% polyester: lightweight, breathable, long sleeved and machine washable, with a smart polo collar and button placket. The Clubwear polos are a long-sleeve collared polo cut with a relaxed fit through the body for ease of movement. The fabric of any specific polo is listed on its product page.

Question 10

Is it suitable for competition shooting?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The performance shirt is made for the shooting club, competition days and casual wear, and the polo collar with button placket keeps it club-ready. Many shooters wear one under a shooting vest on the line and on its own afterwards.
